ODV Release 5.8.4 (Windows, macOS, Linux) Jan/15/2026:
• Resting the mouse near the current station or a current sample mark now shows additional information as tooltip.
• Option Collection > Properties > Data Variables now allows sorting of data variables by data counts.
• New shortcut keys Ctrl+< and Alt+R for invoking Zoom and Set Ranges options.
• Revised and extended procedures for exporting sample and station dots as graphics objects. Symbol sets can now have Z variable values and automatic colors.
BUG FIXES
• Fixed station filter polygon not being read from view.
• Fixed the following rare case: SCATTER data window with Y-variable containing standard deviations would not load data and erroneously claim out-of-memory situation.
• Values for meta variables EXPOCODE, SECT_ID, STNNBR and Source File Name are now extracted from the import files when importing WHP CTD (exchange format) files. The EXPOCODE column no longer needs to be the first column.
• Fixed occasional “spiky” section polygons.
• Fixed occasional crashes when using the Special > String ID derived variable.
• Fixed misplaced polyline start- and end-symbols in non-default projected maps.
• Fixed failure to move/rename collections on Linux.
